It can be difficult to find time to sit down and write in between the hustle and rush of daily life. However, we have some tips that might help!
1. Journal daily
Journaling is a great way to start off because it requires you to express your ideas and helps you get into the writing mindset. It’s also great for your mental health and allows you to think out your goals and thoughts in a tangible, visual way. Starting with five minutes of daily journaling can go a long way to improving your mental health and fluency in writing.
2. Designate a writing environment
Having a space where you can completely focus on writing can be great for creativity! This doesn’t necessarily need to be a silent room with the perfect view and a steaming mug of tea; it can be a corner of your kitchen table or. Anywhere you feel comfortable writing is a good place to start.
3. Set aside a certain period of time for writing
If you have a specific time every day designated as “writing time”, it can help your mind associate that period with focus, letting you concentrate on your writing. It can be ten minutes before bed or during your lunch break; just find a little time and get your thoughts down on paper.
4. Find a writing buddy
So many people want to write, so if you happen to know someone who might also be interested, reach out to them and ask if they want to be your writing buddy. Having a person who knows your goals motivates you to achieve those goals, helping your writing become more consistent.
