For a lot of people like myself, it’s important to designate a time and a place to write. Setting a time to write helps me ensure that I’m making time every week to write, and finding the right place to write allows me to make sure that there are no distractions or barriers preventing me from getting my thoughts onto paper. If you’re like me and you need a productive environment to help you write, come to Write On’s weekly “Just Write” sessions, every Friday from 6 to 7 PM.
Open to adult and teen writers, Just Write sessions are an opportunity for you to work on your own projects at the Write On center in a quiet space. Whether you’re working on a novel, an article, a poem, or a school paper, Just Write sessions are a time for you to make progress on your own projects. If you don’t have a project or finish your project during the session and want something else to work on, you’re also welcome to respond to an optional writing prompt that we make available at the start of the session. At the very end of the session, we give you an opportunity to share your work with our staff members and other writers in the room to get feedback on the progress that you’ve made.
The best part is that Just Write sessions are completely free, and signing up for a season is really simple. All you have to do is go to our website, find the Just Write Sessions and register for the day that you want to come in. Registration is recommended, but if you forget to put your name down and decide at the last minute that you want to come down on Friday evening, you are completely welcome.
