August 21 & 22 - Letter Writing to Someone I Know - Write to a family member or friend. Focus on the parts of a friendly letter, sharing news, asking questions, and writing for a real audience.
August 28 & 29 - Bookmarks - Design and create a one-of-a-kind bookmark inspired by books, words, favorite characters, or your own imagination.
September 4 & 5 - Comic Creation - Bring stories to life through words and pictures! Create characters, develop a storyline, and design your own original comic.
September 11 & 12 - Nature Journaling - Observe, wonder, and write! Explore the natural world through descriptive writing, sketching, and creative reflection.
September 18 & 19 - Word Art - Explore the creative connection between words and visual art! Writers will play with lettering, color, shape, and design to transform meaningful words and phrases into unique works of art.
September 25 & 26 - Book Club - Read, discuss, and connect! Explore a great book together through conversation, creative activities, and shared ideas.
October 2 & 3 - Literacy Flowers - Turn pages into petals! Create beautiful paper flowers while giving old book pages new creative life.
October 9 & 10- Letter Writing to an Author - Write to a favorite author about a book, character, or moment you enjoyed, and include questions you would like to ask the author.
October 16 & 17 - Encouragement Containers - Fill a container with words that matter! Write encouraging messages, positive reminders, and uplifting notes to keep or share.
October 23 & 24 - Greeting Cards - Put your words to work by designing and writing handmade greeting cards for friends, family, or someone who could use a little kindness.
October 30 & 31 - Book Club - Read, discuss, and connect! Explore a great book together through conversation, creative activities, and shared ideas.
November 6 & 7 - Literacy Folios - Step inside a favorite story! Create a themed tri-fold folio inspired by a book or genre, filled with decorations, paper treasures, and little surprises that bring the literary world to life.
November 13 & 14- Letter Writing to Someone Special - Write to someone who has made a difference in your life. This could be a teacher, coach, grandparent, sibling, neighbor, friend, mentor, etc.
November 20 & 21 - Blackout Poetry- Discover poetry hidden in plain sight! Writers will select words and phrases from an existing page, then use art and creative design to “black out” the rest, revealing a unique poem of their own.
December 4 & 5- Book Swap - Bring a book, discover a new one, and share the joy of reading with fellow book lovers.
December 11 & 12 - Ornaments - Combine words, stories, and creativity to design a one-of-a-kind literary-inspired ornament to take home.
December 18 & 19 - Book Club - Read, discuss, and connect! Explore a great book together through conversation, creative activities, and shared ideas.
